Elliptic flow for φ mesons measured by PHENIX

چکیده
The systematic study of hadronic elliptic flow in various relativistic heavy ion collisions is important for the investigation initial geometry influence on quark gluon plasma characteristics. φ meson consists strange and antistrange quarks has a small interaction cross section with non-strange hadrons. Therefore, mesons are barely affected by late stage reflect detailed information about hot dense matter properties. Additionally, comparison to those charged hadrons will provide additional flavor dependence flow. PHENIX measured second order azimuthal anisotropy coefficients Cu+Au at √ S NN = 200 GeV U+U 193 midrapidity (| η | < 0.35). obtained data suggest scaling eccentricity participant nucleons Cu+Au, U+U, Au+Au collisions. Viscous hydrodynamic model iEBE-VISHNU provides simultaneous description data.

2 00 5 Nuclear modification and elliptic flow measurements for φ mesons at √ s NN = 200 GeV d + Au and Au + Au collisions by PHENIX
We report the first results of the nuclear modification factors and elliptic flow of the φ mesons measured by the PHENIX experiment at RHIC in high luminosity Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV. The nuclear modification factors RAA and RCP of the φ follow the same trend of suppression as π’s in Au+Au collisions. In d+Au collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV, the φ mesons are not suppressed. The ellipt...
متن کاملElliptic Flow Measurements with the PHENIX Detector
Two particle azimuthal correlation functions are presented for charged hadrons produced in Au + Au collisions at RHIC ( √ s NN = 130 GeV). The measurements allow for the determination of elliptic flow without event-by-event estimation of the reaction plane. The measured correlation functions indicate elliptic flow values (v2) which show significant sensitivity to both the collision centrality a...

متن کاملDirect Photon-Hadron Correlations Measured with PHENIX
Direct photon-hadron correlations greatly improve our ability to perform jet tomography in heavy-ion collisions because the momentum of the direct photon can be used to constrain the initial momentum of the opposing jet. By comparing the spectrum of away-side hadrons observed in heavy ion collisions to the spectrum seen in nucleon collisions we can quantify the medium modification to the fragme...
متن کاملφ- meson Production at RHIC energies using the PHENIX Detector
Light vector mesons are among the most informative probes to understand the strongly coupled Quark Gluon Plasma created at RHIC. The suppression of light mesons at high transverse momentum, compared to expectations from scaled p + p results, reflects the properties of the strongly interacting matter formed. The φ-meson is one of the probes whose systematic measurement in p + p, d + Au and Au + ...
